Midwest Podiatry Conference in March of 2025 in Chicago

Dr. Shah was one of many lecturers invited to speak at the Midwest Podiatry Conference's 75th anniversary in March 2025.

His topic focused on the pediatric foot and ankle segment of the conference. Dr. Shah shared his experience in a presentation titled "Clubfoot: A Clinical and Surgical Correlation."

Dr. Shah not only treats clubfeet and other genetic foot and ankle disorders, but also shares his knowledge to educate and inspire others to do the same.

El Salvador, 2025 (done)

The Operation Footprint performed another successful surgical mission in El Salvador in 2025. Dr. Shah, as a member of this organization, performed surgeries to help those in need. The mission trip is in partnership with Bloom Children's Hospital in San Salvador. Most of the children in El Salvador have a spinal cord disease, making the surgeries more challenging than those without a spinal cord disease.

Honduras, 2025 (done)

Dr. Shah continued his philanthropic work in Honduras in January of 2025. 2025 marked his 25th year of philanthropic work with Operation Footprint (operationfootprint.org). His role has shifted within the team over the years, and he now primarily teaches younger surgeons the complex art of reconstructive surgery in patients with genetic lower-extremity conditions. He now serves as a co-director and senior surgeon on the team and aims to invite new members to make a global difference. Through collaborative efforts, the team was joined by a residency director and several attendees from many teaching programs throughout the United States. Additionally, Dr. Evelyn Kuong, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon from Hong Kong, joined the team this year. This marked the first year that an orthopedic surgeon from a non-hosting country joined the team to serve those in need. ...the work continues...

Present Treasure Hunt Conference in Los Angeles in February 2025.

Dr. Shah was invited to speak at the Treasure Hunt Conference in Los Angeles in February 2025. This conference featured a mix of selected expert speakers from across the United States, each with expertise in a range of subject areas. Dr. Shah was invited to speak on his expertise on Medial Ankle Instability and Approach to Rigid Equinus - two very complicated and theoretical clinical conditions that require a thorough and logical approach in their treatment.

American College of Podiatric Medicine (ACPM)

The American College of Podiatric Medicine is an organization at the forefront of providing and enhancing education not only for its members but also for the profession. Its goal is to educate the members of the profession on the current principles of foot and ankle conditions. They invite speakers to share their experiences in advancing the profession. Dr. Shah was invited to share his experience with Operation Footprint and its impact globally. He presented a lecture entitled 'Scalpel to Society: A Measurable Impact of Operation Footprint' demonstrating its historical evolution, its current state, and its future goals. Furthermore, because of Dr. Shah's Doctorate in Education and extensive experience with national and international directives, he was invited and has agreed to join the education committee of ACPM to assist in enhancing its education directive.

Munich, Germany, in December 2025

Dr. Shah represented Operation Footprint by attending the 33rd International Symposium for Foot Surgery in Munich, Germany, in December 2025. This meeting was intended to improve our collaboration with the German surgeons and to partner in the future, leveraging our mutual global presence to make a difference.

A portion of the conference was sponsored by Operation Footprint, during which its education team presented several lectures. This meeting was highly successful in increasing our awareness of philanthropic work and in discussing a future partnership. This partnership would involve a bilateral agreement to lecture in our respective conferences and to work together in both of our surgical camps globally.

Adidas Tour (Adidas Facility in Herzogenaurach, Germany)

Adidas organized a behind-the-scenes tour in Herzogenaurach, Germany, to welcome six surgeons from the United States. The purpose of the tour was to visit the facility to learn how they research shoe design, test shoe mechanics, see the athlete's testing lab, and discuss shoe ideas as experienced by physicians. Their innovations team led this tour.

Desert Foot Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, in October 2024

Dr. Shah's vast experience enabled him to lecture on the diabetic foot. His lecture, 'A Pragmatic Approach to Diabetic Foot Surgery,' allowed him to share his expertise with unique cases and approaches encountered while treating diabetic foot patients. His innovative surgical approach was shared with colleagues when encountering complicated diabetic foot structures that otherwise result in severe complications if not managed properly.

Lecture at Surgery and Wound Care Summit in September 2024

Dr. Shah was invited to give one of his most innovative lectures at the Surgery and Wound Care Summit in September 2024. Dr. Shah's lecture on Medial Column Arthrodesis: A Perspective to Improve Outcomes was exceptionally well received, as it presented an argument against medial column fusion and the consequences of fusing a joint without considering future complications. This topic sparked debate over whether intra-articular surgery should be performed for an extra-articular deforming force. This was the second time Dr. Shah was invited to speak on this topic because of its innovative ideas and approaches.

Dr. Shah was one of three surgeons invited to lecture in Chandigarh and New Delhi, India, in September 2025. He was accompanied by Dr. Amol Saxena from the United States and Dr. Miriam Birth from Germany. Dr. Shah presented the history, current directives, and future goals of Operation Footprint. The presentation was delivered to orthopedic and vascular surgeons, physiatrists, and other medical personnel. Dr. Mandeep Dhillon, a well-known foot and ankle surgeon, hosted the meeting in Chandigarh.

The meeting provided a platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration among medical professionals from different countries. Dr. Shah’s presentation highlighted the importance of global partnerships in advancing foot and ankle care. This exchange of ideas and expertise contributes to improving patient outcomes worldwide.

The presentation also informed about Operation Footprint's India surgery camp. Collaboration with local Indian surgeons and the possibility of additional surgical camps were briefly discussed. The camp would provide surgeons with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and share innovative techniques. By working together, they aim to address complex cases and improve surgical outcomes. These collaborations will also pave the way for future partnerships, ensuring sustainable advancements in global foot and ankle care.

Vaishnav Business Network October 2025 in Mumbai

Dr. Shah was a guest speaker at the Vaishnav Business Network meeting in October 2025. Dr. Shah, with his extensive experience in various business ventures, his management of a surgical camp in Agra, India, and his master's in business administration, created an opportunity for the VBN community to invite him to share his experiences. The aim of the meeting and the presentation was to initiate and enhance mutual partnerships not only nationally in India but also to consider international partnerships between India and the United States, the logistics involved in creating such partnerships, and how collaboration can accelerate the process.

Dr. Shah highlighted the importance of fostering innovation and collaboration across borders, emphasizing how shared knowledge and resources can drive progress in both business and healthcare. His presentation underscored the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships to address global challenges and create sustainable solutions. The concepts were discussed in both business and international medical project management. Dr Shah also shared insights into the challenges and opportunities of working in diverse cultural and regulatory environments. By highlighting current projects, Dr. Shah illustrated how strategic collaboration can lead to innovative solutions that benefit communities and foster economic growth across nations.

EDUCATION

While enrolled in the Doctor of Education program, Dr. Shah realized a gap between those teaching foot and ankle surgery and those learning. As a result, he developed a virtual surgical lecture series titled Complex Foot and Ankle Reconstruction (CFAR) with the Operation Footprint team. The series provided a platform for experts to share advanced techniques and insights, bridging the educational gap. By leveraging virtual tools, Dr. Shah ensured accessibility for learners worldwide, fostering collaboration and innovation in foot and ankle surgery. This initiative significantly enhanced training opportunities for aspiring surgeons.

Dr Shah designs the monthly lecture topics and moderates the entire session. He aims to bridge the gap between experts and novices during each session. This lecture series has proven successful, with monthly participation increasing and membership nearing 3000 in four years. It consists primarily of physicians and surgeons, most of whom are in the first five years of their careers. The lecture series has gained recognition for its ability to provide practical insights and foster collaboration among professionals. By addressing complex cases and sharing innovative techniques, it equips participants with valuable skills to enhance patient outcomes. Dr. Shah’s dedication continues to inspire and empower the next generation of foot and ankle specialists.

In addition, through his philanthropic endeavors, Dr. Shah and Operation Footprint welcome international faculty to participate in the sessions either as lecturers or expert panelists. The inclusion of international faculty has enriched the program by bringing diverse perspectives and expertise. This global collaboration fosters a deeper understanding of foot and ankle surgery, enabling participants to learn from diverse experiences and approaches.
